I was in a low-impact car accident and went to the ER the next day to get checked up just incase. I went to my doctor because of back pain and when I mentioned I was in a car accident. They told me I could not go through my health insurance that it has to be through my car insurance. It turns out I have herniated discs and now my doctor has referred me to see an orthopedic surgeon but, I do not feel that the car accident was the cause of the herniated discs. I asked again if I can treatment through my health insurance and I was told by one of the office assistants that it is fraud if I use my health insurance. I need to give a copy of a police report to my insurance company for an act of vandalism to my parents car. I am 20 and I was using the car when it was vadalized. In the report it stated how I suspected my ex girlfriend of doing the act. It states specific information such as her age, ethnicity, address, etc. I have very overbearing parents who are consistently trying to control my life. I told them about the incident but not the specifics and I really do not want them to find out any information about my ex girlfriend because it may cause problems. Made a really huge mistake today. Was rushing to get somewhere when I was backing out of my parking spot and hit a parked work truck! No one was inside of it, absolutely no one was around, and it was in an apartment complex that doesn’t have cameras. You can not tell that the truck is damaged AT ALL. No paint scratches, no dents, nothing. However, my tail light went against his hitch and is completely cracked/shattered, and part of my bumper is knocked out of place (but not dented). You can see some of his paint on my car. I panicked and drove away because I was really scared and didn’t know what to do. I was going to come back and leave a note on his windshield and then I realized that you can’t even see the damage. I can’t tell my parents because they’re going to be so mad at me (last month they paid $600 out of pocket to replace my bumper when I irresponsibly let my boyfriend drive my car and he backed into something, I lied and said it was my fault and they were understanding but I can’t tell them this time or they’re going to worry too much about me driving). I’m a very responsible girl, 17 years old no criminal record or anything but don’t know what to do. If I say I came out of a store or school or something and someone must have hit me/ I don’t know what happened, can I get in trouble for lying that it was a hit & run if they decide to get a claim from my insurance and can insurance tell? Our dog got out of the yard and bit the mail person. I don’t know how bad it was. That’s for the doctors. But we did sit her down and she felt the need to call 911 and go to the hospital by ambulance. Our dog didn’t attack or anything. He just bit her on her leg. So right after that I’m thinking law suit. So I call our insurance company with some questions. Now today they want us to come in and sign some papers. But nothing has happened yet. We aren’t being sued. We haven’t filed a claim with them. So why are our insurance people all over us. I would think that it would be the other way around. The Mail Person sues us and then we file a claim with our insurance. It seems goofy to me. I guess I shouldn’t have called them with my questions. But I felt like we needed to cover our azzes. And the mail person is fine. She was back at work the next day. As far as the dog goes he’s okay too. It was an odd set of circumstances. We have a dog run and we keep gun locks on both gates. Not because I think they are dangerous but because people are mean. People do come into your yard and steal your dog and use them for Pit Bull bait. So the gun locks are mostly for show. Should I lease a new car as a college student with no income?
I’m 19, no income, a year into college and I really want a better car. I drive a crashed 1992 Camry with no AC 40 minutes a day to school in hot Arizona weather. The main reason why I don’t have a job is because I need to keep a high GPA (electrical engineering aka one of the most demanding majors) to renew my scholarship yearly (which has covered the first two expensive university years already) and I expect it to cover about 2/3 of the remaining school time.
